Question by Mike R: Green card – How long after arriving and married through a K1 Visa?
My Asian wife is Chinese and I am a US citizen. We have been thinking and considering how long it will take to get herĀ the green card (total time). She came into the US with a K1 Visa and we are staying in the northern parts of California.
Thanks for the help!

Hi,
The USCIS will normally invite you and your wife for an interview, so that they can check the validity of the marriage, within four to six months. If you and your wife pass the green card interview she can get a green card stamp on the spot, unless the background checks on her has not been completed.
